Electrontic Ad requirements

Electronic Requirements
  1. E-ad file requirements.
    Procedure e-ads sent to The Star are: i) E-ads sent created with the program Quark Express 7 and with the required Mac fonts and images. (PC fonts are not compatible) ii) E-ads sent as Abode Acrobat PDF files with all fonts embedded and saved in high resolution (200 dpi minimum) iii) E-ads sentas Abode Illustrator EPS files with all fonts included (Mac only) or all fonts converted to outlines. iv) All scanned colour or greyscale images should be saved at 200dpi (resolution). Bitmap images should be scanned at 600dpi (resolution). Colour images must be saved as CMYK. v) Please contact the production department if you cannot send files in formats mentioned above to confirm compatibility and of file types. Always indicate on your email who the file is in attention to.
  2. Transmission method: Preferred Method i) FTP (file transfer protocol) is the preferred method to receive e-ads. Our FTP site is accessible though the Internet. Contact:creative@thesudburystar.com for a user name and password. ii) E-Mail (only as a backup to FTP) ads can be accepted to the following e-mail address only ‘creative@thesudburystar.com’ and the file type must be as outlined in section 1.
    The composing is equipped for all of the services above. If you are not sure about this process, contact the composing room.
