The show, based on the Bible’s Book of Genesis, tells the story of Joseph, whose 10 brothers are jealous he is favoured by their father, Jacob. After his brothers drive him away, Joseph eventually overcomes all obstacles by virtue of his good morals and ability to interpret dreams.

“This is the first show in 5 years for the O’Gorman troupe who traditionally staged a musical every two years – until the pandemic hit.  True to their reputation, they pulled out all the stops with their brilliant set, colourful costumes ( including a dazzling multicolored coat) and high energy performers,” she stated in a press release issued Thursday.

The show aimed for professional standards with a live band of experienced musicians accompanying the cast.

“This was a dream come true for all involved,” said Neal.

“Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat,” runs May 1- May 4 at O’Gorman High School’s Sylvia Gravel Theatre, 150 George Ave., TImmins.  Tickets are $25 and are available at O’Gorman’s main office, Alfie’s Cigar Store, and at the door. Doors open at 6:30, show at 7:00 p.m.
