Sagamok driver blows over at RIDE check on 17
Licence suspended, vehicle impounded for seven days

A Sagamok man is charged with impaired driving after being stopped in the Espanola area.
Manitoulin OPP said officers were conducting a RIDE initiative on April 26 on Highway 17 when the vehicle entered the check.
“Upon speaking with the driver, police were able to determine that the driver had consumed alcoholic beverages,” the OPP said. “The driver was subsequently arrested and transported to the OPP detachment for further testing.”
Eli Toulouse, 44, from Sagamok First Nation, was charged with impaired driving over 80 mgs.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Espanola on June 10.
Toulouse was also issued a 90-day licence suspension and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.
